The announcement was made today at South Newcastle Beach, where AUSX CEO Adam Bailey joined Minister for the Hunter Yasmin Catley MP, Member for Newcastle Tim Crakanthorp MP and City of Newcastle Councillor Peta Winney-Baartz to celebrate the city's role as the home of the 2026 Championship finale.
NSW Supercross SX1/450 rider Dylan Wills and FMX sensation Lance Russell joined the announcement in full race gear alongside Supercross machinery, giving media and locals a preview of the action set to hit Newcastle later this year.
After racing across Australia and New Zealand, the world's best Supercross riders and Australia's top talent will arrive in Newcastle with Championship titles on the line as the 2026 season reaches its climax under lights at McDonald Jones Stadium.
AUSX CEO Adam Bailey said Newcastle had proven itself as one of the Championship's standout destinations.
"Newcastle has become a special stop on the AUSX calendar, and we're excited to bring the Grand Final to the city for the first time," Bailey said.
"With elite Australian and international riders, passionate fans and Championship titles on the line, McDonald Jones Stadium will provide an incredible stage to close out the 2026 season."
The AUSX Grand Final is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW and proudly backed by the City of Newcastle.
