Update: Lucas Coenen withdraws from Lommel

Lucas Coenen withdraws from Lommel

Lucas Coenen clocked the fifth‑fastest time in Lommel free practice, but his home GP came to a conclusion with that, as did any realistic shot at the MXGP title. The sciatic nerve damage stemming from his Foxhill crash flared up again, forcing him to withdraw and shift focus to recovery rather than the championship fight.

"Lucas Coenen ruled out of the MXGP of Flanders after free practice, the Belgian made the decision to sit out his home race and focus on recovery," read a statement from KTM.

More to follow.
