The FIM World Supercross Championship has announced the first wave of riders for the 2026 season, with further confirmations set to follow in the coming weeks as the full line-up takes shape. Words: WSX

Among the early announcements, Quad Lock Honda will see the return of Joey Savatgy, who delivered a standout 2025 campaign to finish runner-up in the championship, alongside Christian Craig, who secured third overall last season. Having both demonstrated consistent front‑running pace, Savatgy and Craig will arrive in 2026 aiming to build on last season’s title‑challenging form.

Electric racing is no longer a concept in World Supercross, it’s a competitive reality with Stark Racing entering its second season in the championship. The Spanish manufacturer retains experienced duo Vince Friese and Jorge Zaragoza, who both performed well during the team’s debut season last year. Armed with a full season of data and development, the pair head into 2026 with renewed confidence and a clear ambition to prove that electric supercross can compete at the sharp end of the field.

The 2026 season will also welcome a new team to the championship, as 595 Racing makes its World Supercross debut. The team’s first confirmed rider is Greg Aranda, a familiar presence in the championship, who competed with Team GSM last season. Aranda’s experience of the championship’s unique demands is expected to play a key role as 595 Racing builds its debut roster and establishes itself at the highest level of international supercross.

Thomas Covington, Director of Racing, World Supercross Championship, said: “This first step in building our 2026 rider lineup is a hugely exciting moment. The calibre of riders we’re confirming today is a testament to the strength of the championship and the ambition of the teams investing in it. Joey and Christian represent genuine championship contenders, Stark’s continued commitment to electric racing is something we are immensely proud to support, and welcoming 595 Racing with Greg Aranda adds another compelling storyline to what is shaping up to be our most competitive season yet. There is plenty more to come.”

Further rider announcements will be revealed in the coming weeks. For more information, visit worldsupercrosschampionship.com
