Injury Update: Chase Sexton
For the third consecutive year, Chase Sexton’s SuperMotocross (SMX) campaign has ended with him on the injury list. The Red Bull KTM star suffered a heavy crash during the final moto of the season, crashing out while running fourth at the finale in Las Vegas.
The incident was a frightening one, with Sexton suffering a violent endo and remaining on the ground for several laps. Alpinestars' medical team was quickly on the scene, and yellow flags were waved to keep other riders clear while he received treatment.
"While running inside the top five in Moto 2, the 25-year-old would unfortunately crash heavily during the latter stages of the moto, later confirming a mild concussion and a weak shoulder that he will have further evaluated this upcoming week," stated the KTM press release.
Thankfully, the injuries appear not to be more serious, but the timing is particularly unfortunate, for Sexton is now expected to miss the Motocross of Nations for the second year running, which is a major blow for the American team. The crash also likely marks his final appearance aboard a Red Bull KTM machine, with his departure from the Austrian manufacturer all but confirmed.
Sexton is widely expected to join Monster Energy Kawasaki for the 2026 season, closing the chapter on his eventful stint with KTM.
